At the risk of belaboring the point, I'll be kicking myself for not getting my lineup in in time to use Julio Jones for a while now. Without his 28 standard points, a huge total in this scoring system, I turned in another dud week, and labor around the halfway mark of the overall rankings. Average, and that's not good enough.
Time to bear down in Week 4, and by bear down I don't mean starting lots of Bears, because those guys have been killing me.
The rules are simple. Pick 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 2 TEs, and 2 PKs each week. Highest point total from that starting lineup wins the week.
You can sign up to play at http://football.myfantasyleague.com/2014/FantasyIndex. It will be tough to win the overall if you haven't played the first three weeks, but there are weekly prizes, too.
Quarterbacks: Drew Brees and Philip Rivers. Brees faces the Cowboys, and the young whipper snapper who used to back him up and forced him out of San Diego faces the Jaguars. Dial up some big numbers.
Running Backs: LeSean McCoy and LeVeon Bell. McCoy is due for a big game and I think it comes at San Francisco. Bell is awesome and faces the Bucs.
Wide Receivers: Jeremy Maclin, Julio Jones and Dez Bryant. Bryant should be good against the Saints. I want a piece of the Eagles passing offense. Dez should be the Cowboys passing game in a game they get smacked around in by New Orleans. Note I'm not starting anyone in the Thursday game, since I can't be trusted to get my lineup in in time. But the Washington wideouts look good.
Tight Ends: Jimmy Graham and Martellus Bennett. Why fight what the Black Unicorn is doing? Graham never gets benched.
Kickers: Nick Novak and Shaun Suisham. Kickers at home whose teams should score plenty and win.
Good luck to all of you.
