Martellus Bennett has had a frustrating season, with four huge games (a 3-TD performance and three 100-yard games) and then eight others where he did nothing at all -- fewer than 50 receiving yards and no touchdowns in those other eight games. Makes it hard to trust him in the fantasy playoffs, and he admits injuries are a factor.
Bennett is dealing with ankle and shoulder injuries, which he concedes are working against him. It's part of why he hasn't put up big receiving numbers lately, even with Rob Gronkowski out hurt.
Bennett's next two games don't look great. The Patriots host Baltimore and travel to Denver. Those teams have each allowed just 2 TDs to tight ends this season.
The final two, though, look better. New England hosts the Jets (6 TDs to tight ends, most notably 3 to Dwayne Allen last week) and plays at Miami (7 TDs to tight ends). In the earlier game against Miami, Bennett put up his top yardage total of the season (114) and also caught a touchdown.
Difficult to feel confident using Bennett against the Ravens this week, but he should have a couple of good games left this season for those with meaningful Week 16-17 games. Maybe he'll be a little healthier then, too.
