Ed Reed will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday. Just like Ray Lewis (who went in last year) he played his college ball at Miami and was drafted in the first round by the Ravens. In the Super Bowl era, what are the only other two teams that have drafted two Hall of Fame players from the same school? With both cases, they were drafted in the first and second rounds. One pair are both pass catchers (a wide receiver and a tight end). The others played together in the ‘70s.
Answer
Pittsburgh, with Jack Ham and Franco Harris coming out of Penn State. A linebacker, Ham was selected in the second round in 1971. Harris was their first-round pick the next year.
The Raiders also did this with Dave Casper and Tim Brown, who both played at Notre Dame. A tight end, Casper was picked in 1974. Brown was a first-round choice in 1988.
