What’s the only franchise that’s won NFL championships for three different cities? Said team won an NFL title, switched cities, won a championship there, moved again, and won another title.
Answer
Rams (winning championships in Cleveland, Los Angeles and St. Louis). Two of those cities are in action against each other this week (Cleveland and Los Angeles). The Cleveland Rams won the 1945 NFL championship, while the Los Angeles Rams won it in 1951. The 1945 title game, a 15-14 win over Washington, included a bizarre safety. Sammy Baugh, throwing out of his own end zone, had a pass hit a goal post and bounce out the back of his own end zone – at that time a safety.
