Are the Steelers in the market for a wide receiver? I saw that suggested in a mock draft, but I kind of like the trio they have.
JuJu Smith-Schuster has already had a couple of big seasons. He’s very good. And James Washington has chipped in plays at times, looking like he could be an effective deep threat.
They selected Diontae Johnson in the third round last year, and I thought he had a good rookie season.
Johnson (pictured) caught 59 passes, with 5 TDs and another score on a punt return.
Pittsburgh had drafted a bunch of really good wide receivers in the last 20 years. Johnson caught more passes in his rookie season than any of them.
I suppose if the Steelers are on the clock and there’s a receiver they really like, they could take him. But I think they have other, more pressing needs. I don’t expect we’ll see them selecting a wide receiver in the first three rounds.
