DeAndre Hopkins

Standout receiver has never scored vs. New England

DeAndre Hopkins is piling up a ton of catches this year. But Hopkins is at New England this week, and that’s not a team he’s had a lot of success against.

Hopkins, in fact, hasn’t scored in any of his seven career games against the Patriots. Closest he came was last year, when he at least threw a touchdown against them. Nor has he had a 100-yard game against them.

New England doesn’t typically completely shut him down, but he hasn’t gone off against them. In seven career games, he’s caught 35 passes for 468 yards. That’s an average of 5 catches for 67 yards per game.

Different years, quarterbacks, offenses and teams, of course. Hopkins has been awfully busy this season, catching 96 passes in his first 10 games. But he hasn’t been a good scorer; he’s caught only 4 of his team’s 19 TD passes. I’ll be ranking him a little lower than usual this week.
