Deshaun Watson is having a great year, but the Texans are losing anyway. That’s unusual. Normally when a quarterback does the kind of things he’s doing, there are a lot more wins involved.
Watson’s play as been pretty spectacular. He’s averaging 295 passing yards per game, and he’s thrown 27 touchdowns versus only 6 interceptions. He’s also averaging 28 yards per week as a runner, with an additional 3 TDs.
Yet, the Texans are sitting at only 4-10.
I checked into the numbers on this. In league history, only seven quarterbacks have finished with at least 20 more touchdowns than interceptions and had his team finish with a losing record anyway.
