Kansas City addresses running back corps

Kansas City raised some eyebrows this week with moves the team made in the running back room. The team re-signed veteran running back JERICK MCKINNON to a one-year contract for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Kansas City declined the fifth-year option on the contract of fellow running back CLYDE EDWARDS-HELAIRE. McKinnon, who turned 31 yesterday, had the best receiving season of his career in 2022, including a streak to end the regular season of six games with at least one touchdown catch. Edwards-Helaire was drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft but has failed to live up to expectations while battling injuries along the way.
