This Week’s Blackout Ends in a Tie

Jeffery Chapman From Gardnerville, NV ties with Peter Richmond of Alexandria, VA in Week 15

This week two teams tied atop the Blackout weekly rankings at 209.20 points. Both managers started the Raiders defense in a gruesome rout of the Chargers on Thursday night.

They also both hit on the TE1 among eligible players, David Njoku. Jeffery’s team, Rott Was I Thinking, added big games from D.Adams and Isaiah Likely. Peter’s team, The Watch Dog, hit on the TE2 among eligible players, Trey McBride as well as rookies Rashee Rice and Jamyr Gibbs to match Peter’s score perfectly. The Blackout only hit on three players who logged top scores in Week 15 which is an opportunity for managers to rack up some points. However, the top players continued to be elusive. The QB1, Baker Mayfield, was not included on a single roster. The QB2, Jared Goff was selected by just 8% of managers, the same number as the RB1, James Cook. A single roster included the WR1, Jordan Addison and the WR3, Terry McLaurin received just two starts. The crowd did manage to mash the tight ends this week. The top finishers, Trey McBride and David Njoku were the 3rd and 4th most selected players.

There were some interesting performances from outside of the player pool this week. Joshua Palmer, WR, LAC scored 21.30 in his return from injury. In that same game, rookie Tre Tucker, WR, LV gave his dynasty owners a flash of hope, finding the endzone on two of his three receptions for 20.70 points.

This was another week where many of the top scores defied prediction but this time the crowd didn’t hold serve. The most selected players roster this week put up just 39.6% of the available points. That essentially ties the low water mark of the season which was set back in Week 5.

Rott Was I Thinking moves to 187th place in the overall standings with his win this week. It’s his 7th top 100 finish on the season. The Watch Dog is ranked 112th overall after Week 15. DT Bombers, who held 2nd place last week, slid down to 3rd allowing Plano Guru to move into the 2nd spot. Mighty Grimmace’s managed a devastating 5th place in the weekly rankings to reestablish a commanding lead in the overall contest. The lead is now 90.15 points, up a shocking 50 points from last week’s margin. Here’s a look at the Top 25 Overall:

Our fantasy pool is entering its 25^th year and I have used multiple books and on-line tools over the years.

I have locked on to Fantasy Index as my go to for the last 5 years and have won the pool 3 of those years and finished no lower than 4^th.

Interesting to see how much more accurate you were at the end of the year compared to other books my competitors used.

I wanted to thank you for such an amazing product and your customer service. I ordered the wrong date for my update and called to correct the mistake. Your customer service person was very kind, helpful and took care of the issue immediately.

I have used your product for the past 18 years or so… Every now and then I will be tempted and look at what other magazines have to offer, quickly realizing no one comes close.

In addition to the magazine, I started buying the weekly updates years ago when my dad taught me a lesson. The draft came and dad was sitting in the 12 hole for his pick. He told me he felt very comfortable about who he was going to select but would not tell me who his prized gem was to be. I was doubtful. The pick? Priest Holmes (his first dynamite year). I remember telling my dad, "that is a decent pick but they plan to pull him at the goal line." Ever the teacher, dad explained he had purchased the Fantasy Football Index update and read Holmes would get the goal line carries. "Update?", I asked. That was 2002 and Holmes had 21 rushing TDs and Dad won the title! Lesson learned.
