The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to a three-year, $96 million contract extension with wide receiver A.J. Brown. They have secured his future two weeks after giving DeVonta Smith a three-year, $75 million contract.

A.J. Brown's new contract is not just a show of faith from the Eagles but a record-breaking deal. It includes a staggering $84 million guaranteed money, the highest among wide receivers. This figure surpasses the four-year, $120 million contract extension that the Detroit Lions gave Amon-Ra St. Brown by $7 million. Furthermore, the $32 million annual average is the highest among wideouts, cementing A.J. Brown's status as a top earner in the league.

After trading for Brown from the Tennessee Titans, the Eagles gave him a four-year, $100 million contract. He was worth every penny, as he had back-to-back seasons with at least 1,400 receiving yards, earning him Second Team All-Pro honors in both years.

He had 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2022 and 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns last season. However, due to injury, he did not play during the Eagles' Wild Card Round game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Eagles have secured their wide receiver corps for the future. Smith will be under contract with the Eagles until 2028, while Brown's engagement with the Eagles will extend until 2029.

Securing their stars on offense prompted the Eagles to go defense in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft, selecting former Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell.
