Packers Sign DT Kenny Clark to Three-Year Contract Extension

The Green Bay Packers and defensive tackle Kenny Clark have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth up to $64 million. The deal includes a $17.5 million signing bonus and could keep him in Green Bay until the 2027 season.

It’s a good move for the Packers after Clark earned his third Pro Bowl selection last year after tallying 44 tackles, a career-high 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and three passes defended. He’s becoming one of the best interior defensive linemen in the league after earning Pro Bowl nods in three of the last five seasons.

The contract extension means that Clark will earn $29 million in 2024, helping push his career total to $150 million. In addition to a new deal, he will also welcome the 4-3 defense that new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley will install. Green Bay has been using the 3-4 defensive formation for the longest time.

In addition to his on-field excellence, the Packers gave Clark the extension because of his availability. Since entering the league in 2016, he has never played fewer than 13 games per season. He has also participated in ten postseason games, finishing with three tackles and five sacks.
