The Cincinnati Bengals have signed offensive tackle Amarius Mims to a four-year, $15.37 million rookie-scale contract. His deal includes a $7.99 million signing bonus and a fifth-year option as a first-round draft pick. Signing Mims to a contract means all first-round picks in the 2024 NFL Draft are under contract.
Selecting Mims in the first round was a no-brainer, especially after becoming a part of the two-time national champions Georgia Bulldogs. It also indicates the Bengals’ continuous investment in the offensive line to protect quarterback Joe Burrow.
Mims will receive the following base salaries throughout his rookie contract: $795,000 (2024), $960,000 (2025), $1,075,000 (2026), and $1,190,000 (2027). He will also receive the following roster bonuses: $533,707 (2025), $1,117,414 (2026), and $1,701,121 (2027).
First round pick secured.

However, while Mimis is already under contract, his role with the Bengals remains uncertain because he must compete with Orlando Brown Jr. and Trent Brown for a spot at offensive tackle. Therefore, he will compete for his spot during training camp. In addition to potentially unseating Brown Jr. as the starting left tackle, he could also be a swing option for both tackle positions.
The Bengals are banking on his talent in warding off opposing defensive linemen, especially after the team surrendered 50 tackles last season.
