BJ Ojulari Suffers Season-Ending Injury

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon confirmed that linebacker BJ Ojulari will miss the 2024 NFL season after suffering a torn ACL during one of their training camp practices. Gannon added that after making a routine move for edge rushers, he felt the injury, which caused him to be helped off the field.

While Ojulari was the Cardinals' second-round pick last season, he showed promise in his rookie season by finishing with 40 tackles and four sacks in 17 regular-season games. That output prompted the team to give him first-team reps during this year's training camp. If not for that season-ending injury, he would have earned a starting role this season.

The ACL injury extends Ojulari's injury history since joining the Cardinals last year. He dealt with the knee injury before the 2023 draft and started that year's training camp on the physically unable-to-perform list. Luckily, the Cardinals cleared him before the season began. The former LSU standout also dealt with a hamstring injury before entering the NFL.

In Ojulari's absence, the Cardinals will select a suitable replacement from Dennis Gardeck, Victor Dimukeje, Cam Thomas, and Jesse Luketa. Ojulari's injury could also open up extended playing time for rookie Darius Robinson.
