The Green Bay Packers have finalized their trade for quarterback Malik Willis. In return, the Tennessee Titans will receive a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The former Liberty standout will likely be Jordan Love’s backup for the 2024 season.
The Titans selected Willis in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. However, he never panned out to become the franchise quarterback they envisioned him to be. In eight games during his rookie season, Willis finished with 31 completions for 276 yards, zero touchdowns, and three interceptions.
Will Levis' emergence as Tennessee's starter reduced Willis' playing time last season. Willis saw spot minutes in three games last year and finished with 74 passing yards and 21 rushing yards.

With Malik Willis out of the picture, Mason Rudolph will be Levis' backup in Tennessee. Meanwhile, Willis will join a quarterback rotation featuring Love and Sean Clifford.
Meanwhile, the trade for Willis means that only three of the nine quarterbacks selected in the 2022 draft are with their original teams. Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh Steelers), Desmond Ridder (Arizona Cardinals), Sam Howell (Seattle Seahawks), and Chris Oladokun (Kansas City Chiefs) are with different teams. Likewise, the Minnesota Vikings released QB Matt Corral after signing him this offseason.
