It's another football Sunday morning, and the injury updates are rolling in. Here's what's being reported by the likes of Schefter, Rapoport and others so far.
- Tee Higgins (hamstring) is being called "good to go" for the Bengals tomorrow night. Makes sense to try to have an alternative option from one of the four Monday teams just in case, but Higgins is expected to start against a secondary that has struggled thus far.
Jordan Love (knee) is not expected to play for the Packers today; should be Malik Willis in the starting lineup.
Justin Herbert (ankle) is being called a gametime decision. Seems more likely he doesn't play, but the Chargers are going to take it up to gametime, apparently. I don't think you want any part of a gimpy Herbert or Easton Stick handing the ball off throughout a game at Pittsburgh.
Greg Dortch (hamstring) is expected to play for the Cardinals.
Michael Pittman (back, calf) is expected to play.
Tyjae Spears (ankle) is expected to play, not that he should be in lineups with Tony Pollard playing a lot more so far.
Ruled out yesterday (not unexpectedly): Joe Mixon, George Kittle, Evan Engram.
Tip for those who play FanDuel lineup games: Cam Akers, who will start at running back today for the Texans, is priced at the minimum - $4,000. That's the lowest number any running back is priced at, same as guys on injured lists or healthy scratches each week. A starting running back priced like a third string back is worth putting into salary cap contests.
Not an injury update, but a brief note on the "several teams have expressed interest in trading for Bryce Young" story. While this may be true, keep in mind the only possible source for such news item is the Panthers themselves. (If the Titans or Giants are calling about Young, they're not then calling Adam Schefter to let him know.) My point is that the source of this story is the team with a vested interest in eventually trading Young or at least making it seem like there's a strong market so they don't look as bad. Young will likely be given away in the offseason, ala Justin Fields or Zach Wilson or other failed early picks.
