The recent firing of former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh had football fans wondering if quarterback Aaron Rodgers was involved in the surprising development. However, multiple reports revealed that the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player was ‘blindsided’ by Saleh’s firing.
Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel doesn’t buy that narrative, as he shared during his recent appearance on the Fox Sports show Speak. For him, the veteran quarterback directly affected Saleh’s fate because of the outcomes similar to those of some of Rodgers’ previous coaches.
Daniel argued that the Packers fired former head coach Mike McCarthy midway into the 2018 season. Then, Matt LaFleur had to alter his offense to Rodgers’ liking when they were both still with Green Bay. Daniel compared it to the current Packers, wherein Jordan Love efficiently runs the proper design of LaFleur’s offense. Following the plan helped Green Bay reached last season’s NFC Divisional Round.
Finally, Saleh is off the team after five games. Daniel sees Rodgers as the common denominator of these events. The former quarterback for six NFL teams tweeted that Rodgers had more in-season coaching firings than playoff victories since 2018.

However, this is all speculation as Daniel spoke his mind. Likewise, Rodgers won two MVP awards while running LaFleur’s offense. Therefore, are these firings purely coincidences? Or does Daniel have a valid point?
