It’s been five years since Louisiana State University won its last National Championship. However, under Brian Kelly, the team has completed back-to-back ten-win seasons and won two bowl games. On a bigger scale, former Tigers players impact the NFL’s passing game.
As the National Football League’s official account on X/Twitter pointed out, four of the top seven players in receiving yards played college football in Baton Rouge. Ja’Marr Chase is second behind Nico Collins with 493 receiving yards, while Justin Jefferson has 450. Meanwhile, rookies Brian Thomas (397) and Malik Nabers (386) are in sixth and seventh place, respectively.
Regarding touchdown catches, Chase is tied with Mike Evans in first place with five. Meanwhile, Jefferson is tied with Allen Lazard and Marvin Harrison Jr. in second place with four. Thomas and Nabers have three touchdowns each, tying them with 15 other receivers, including Collins, and tight ends George Kittle, Isaiah Likely, and Tucker Craft.

In terms of yards per catch, Thomas is in fourth place, averaging precisely 18 yards per catch. Jefferson is in seventh place at 17.3 yards per catch, while Chase is ninth at 17 yards per catch. These four wideouts’ prowess should inspire the next generation of LSU wideouts to dominate in college football and, eventually, the NFL.
