Andy Richardson: Thursday Night Recap

Difficult to know where to open on last night's game. "Injured" Dalvin Cook? An incredible game-ending play? It was the best of games, it was the worst of games.   more »

Factoid: Losing vs. passing

I have heard the theory floated a few times over the last month that it can be a good thing to pick pass catchers from lesser teams. If a team is trailing often, the idea goes, it will be passing more, resulting in more catches, yards and touchdowns. It got me wondering if there’s any truth in the notion.  more »

Factoid: Super Bowl favorites

The odds indicate Kansas City and Tampa Bay are the teams most likely to play in the Super Bowl. That’s reasonable enough, with both rosters looking stacked and both teams having gotten there last year. But history suggests it’s far more likely some unheralded team will emerge.   more »

Factoid: Justin Jefferson

When a rookie receiver puts up good numbers (like Justin Jefferson last year) the natural tendency is to assume he’s on his way to stardom. That he’ll get even better in his second season, having had a chance to adapt to the pro game and develop a better rapport with his quarterback. But that’s not generally how it tends to play out on the field.  more »
