NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport reported that New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas will be out for the remainder of the 2024 season due to a Lisfranc injury that required surgery. His absence will be a massive blow for a team fighting for relevance in the NFC East.
Worst yet, Thomas has been injury-riddled the past two seasons. He only played ten games last year due to the ankle injury he suffered during the tail end of the 2022 season. It’s an unfortunate development after he signed a five-year, $117.5 million contract extension with the Giants.
This time, Thomas will miss the final 11 regular-season games and the playoffs if the Giants qualify for that stage. In his absence, Joshua Ezeudu and Jermain Eluemunor will have massive shoes to fill because Thomas has been their best offensive lineman since he joined the squad in 2020.

Since being drafted fourth overall, Thomas became a Second Team All-Pro member in 2022 after having just one accepted penalty out of 1,050 snaps played. He earned an 89.1 overall grade from Pro Football Focus that year.
Thomas will end his season with a 75.4 PFF overall grade this year. He had a 91.4 pass-blocking mark in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings. Meanwhile, his highest overall mark was 79.8 in Week 2 versus the Washington Commanders.
