The injury bug keeps biting the Houston Texans, as another player will be out for the season. This time, offensive lineman Kenyon Green’s 2024 campaign is over after suffering a shoulder injury during their Week 9 Thursday Night Football game against the New York Jets.
Green’s season-ending injury comes after the Texans placed wide receiver Stefon Diggs on injured reserve due to a season-ending knee injury. Meanwhile, fellow wideout Nico Collins is still on IR due to a hamstring injury. Tight end Brevin Jordan and left guard Jaylon Thomas are also on IR, while offensive linemen Jarrett Patterson and LaDarius Henderson are out for Houston.
Unfortunately, the injuries have also decimated the Texans' defense, with Jerry Hughes, Christian Harris, Brandon Hill, and Jeff Okudah on IR. Azeez Al-Shaair, Jimmie Ward, and Myles Bryant are out, while defensive end Will Anderson Jr. is questionable after suffering an ankle injury against the Jets.

The Texans selected Green in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. However, based on the grades he received from Pro Football Focus, he hasn't played to expectations. Green received a 37.7 overall PFF grade in 2022 and 39.4 in the first nine games of this year.
With Kenyon Green out for the season, Kendrick Green will likely start at left guard when the Texans face the Detroit Lions in Week 10.
