DeAndre Hopkins had two catches for 29 against the Las Vegas Raiders in his first game with the Kansas City Chiefs. A week later, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid increased his role on offense, and the five-time All-Pro wideout did not disappoint.
Hopkins had a breakout game with the Chiefs, finishing with eight catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Before that game, he had 17 receptions for 202 yards and a touchdown. More importantly, he played a massive role in keeping the Chiefs undefeated after eight games. His touchdown catches also came at pivotal moments during Kansas City’s Week 9 Monday Night Football victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hopkins’ first touchdown catch against the Bucs came with four minutes left in the first half. That one-yard catch from Patrick Mahomes gave Kansas City a 10-7 halftime lead. Meanwhile, his second touchdown catch came in the fourth quarter, giving the Chiefs a 24-17 lead.

The five-time Pro Bowler is a welcome addition to an offensive unit riddled by injuries. Hollywood Brown, Rashee Rice, Skyy Moore, and Jaaron Hayek are all on injured reserve. Likewise, JuJu Smith-Schuster didn’t play against the Buccaneers due to a hamstring injury.
Hopkins and the Chiefs will try to extend their undefeated run in Week 10 against the Denver Broncos.
