Sunday Morning Injury Updates

Kittle called unlikely to play

Just a few injury developments since the Friday update and yesterday morning's column, but one is pretty significant. It involves one of the game's elite tight ends.

  • George Kittle (hamstring) is expected to miss today's tilt with the Seahawks, according to Adam Schefter. The team has three other tight ends listed on the roster (Eric Saubert, Brayden Willis, Jake Tonges), none of whom should be considered as options. More likely there will be more passes going to the wide receivers.

  • CeeDee Lamb showed up on the Cowboys injury report (for the Monday night game) with a back injury. Mike McCarthy says it's not a big deal: "I'm not of high concern." McCarthy isn't known for lying when it comes to injury reports, so my feeling is that Lamb is OK to use tomorrow. If anyone is nervous, they can try to add someone in the same game (Jalen Tolbert might be available in some leagues).

  • Jaylen Warrren (back) is expected to play for the Steelers against the Ravens. No. 2 running back against the league's top-ranked run defense isn't a good option, but he'll likely be in uniform, taking some snaps away from Najee Harris. Ian Rapoport notes that the Steelers did elevate Jonathan Ward from the practice squad as a precaution. So best to steer clear of Warren (which would be the advice even if he were fully healthy this week).

  • The Jets elevated Anders Carlson off the practice squad to kick against the Colts today.

  • The Patriots are getting run stuffing tackle Christian Barmore off the injured list. He's been on it all year due to blood clots, and wasn't necessarily expected to return at all. If he's healthy and playing, he should make the Patriots run defense (currently 23rd) more respectable. Nobody is sitting down Kyren Williams this week, obviously, but something to keep in mind for future Patriots opponents.

Pretty quiet morning, but I'll post in the comments below if anything else crops up in the next few hours.
