Saquon Barkley, Coby Bryant, KaVontae Turpin Named NFC Players of the Week

The National Football League has announced that Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, Seattle Seahawks safety Coby Bryant, and Dallas Cowboys return specialist KaVontae Turpin are the National Football Conference’s best players in Week 12 of the 2024 season.

It’s hard to argue against Barkley’s Week 12 performance against the Los Angeles Rams. The All-Pro running back was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after collecting 255 rushing yards, a new Eagles single-game franchise record and a personal best. That number includes two runs of over 70 yards and another significant gain that led to a Kenneth Gainwell touchdown. Barkley also had two rushing touchdowns while adding 47 receiving yards in the seventh-consecutive victory.

Through Week 12, Barkley leads the league in rushing yards (1,392) and tied for third in rushing touchdowns (10). He also has 257 receiving yards and two touchdowns, strengthening his case for Offensive Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, Bryant is the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after finishing with six tackles and a 69-yard interception touchdown return. It was one of two Seahawks touchdowns during their 16-6 victory against the Arizona Cardinals. In addition to having his first NFL pick-six, he has 28 solo tackles and four passed defended through Week 12.

Finally, Turpin is the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after returning four kicks for 179 yards in their victory against the Washington Commanders. That total includes a 99-yard kickoff return touchdown, during which he initially lost ball possession. He recovered the ball and spun, launching him to the open field.

Barkley and the Eagles will visit the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13. Bryant and the Seahawks will try to maintain their NFC West lead by defeating the New York Jets. Turpin and the Cowboys hope to keep the positive momentum when they host the New York Giants on Thanksgiving Day.
