The National Football League has announced that Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, and Denver Broncos placekicker Wil Lutz are the American Football Conference’s best players in Week 12 of the 2024 season.
Tagovailoa was the AFC Offensive Player of the Week after completing 72.5 percent of his passes (29 of 40) for 317 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions against the New England Patriots. The quarterback from Hawaii threw touchdown passes to Jaylen Waddle, Jonnu Smith, and De’Von Achane (twice).
The victory over their AFC East division rival marks Tagovailoa’s second 300-yard game this season. Through seven games, he has a 73.3 completion percentage (170 of 232) for 1,760 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four interceptions. More importantly, he has anchored the Dolphins to three consecutive victories.
Meanwhile, Garrett is the AFC Defensive Player of the Week after tallying five tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble in their victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year has ten sacks, extending his streak of double-digit sacks to seven. He also has 28 tackles and three forced fumbles in 11 games.
Finally, Lutz is the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after contributing 17 points in the Broncos’ 29-19 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. In addition to two extra points, he converted all five field goal attempts, ranging from 33 to 54 yards. Lutz has 24 field goal conversions and 26 extra points through Week 12.

Tagovailoa and the Dolphins will target their fourth consecutive victory when they visit the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving Day. Garrett and the Browns will face Lutz and the Broncos on Monday Night Football in Week 13.
