While the Kansas City Chiefs improved to 13-1 after defeating the Cleveland Browns, they left the game with some concern as starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes did not finish the game. Instead, Carson Wentz took over because of the three-time Super Bowl winner’s ankle injury.
After the Week 15 victory over the Browns, the Chiefs confirmed that Mahomes will be week-to-week. Luckily for Kansas City, they have secured their ninth consecutive AFC West title, guaranteeing their spot in the AFC playoffs and a possible home game in the Wild Card Round.

However, as the AFC’s top team, they could earn a Wild Card bye if they finish with the conference’s best record. With only the top seed to fight for, the Chiefs would not force Mahomes to play if he’s not 100 percent.
The Chiefs might be winning, but Mahomes doesn’t have the typical MVP-like numbers. Through Week 15, he has 3,348 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. However, he and the Chiefs are converting when it matters most, helping them establish winning streaks of nine and four games.
