Rams Seek Trade for Cooper Kupp

Cooper Kupp’s time with the Los Angeles Rams will end after the team informs him that they will be seeking a trade. While Kupp would have wanted to retire with the Rams, the decision is beyond his control.

As Kupp posted on X/Twitter:

“Still, if there’s one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember. I have taken so much pride in playing alongside my teammates for the LA community, so thank you for embracing my family and making this such a special place for us.”

The Rams selected Kupp in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He has played in two Super Bowls, winning one in Super Bowl LVI. It was a fantastic season for Kupp, as he earned his lone Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro selections after leading the league in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and touchdowns (16).

Unfortunately, injuries derailed his career after that impressive season. He played in only nine games during the 2022 season due to a high ankle sprain that required surgery. He hasn’t completed the 2023 and 2024 regular seasons, playing in only 12 games per year.

Kupp has two years left in his three-year, $80.1 million contract. Now, he gets to play for another team wherein he can compete for another Super Bowl title.
