Ravens sign Todd Monken to a contract extension

The Baltimore Ravens and offensive coordinator Todd Monken have agreed to a contract extension, but the terms of the deal were not disclosed. Monken joined the team before the 2023 NFL season, replacing Greg Roman, who took on the same role with the Los Angeles Chargers.

This season, Monken’s system helped the Ravens become the league’s top offense in terms of yards per game (424.9). They are also the NFL’s best rushing offense, averaging 187.6 yards per game. Likewise, the Ravens ranked third in scoring, averaging 30.5 points per game.

Monken coached an offense featuring two-time NFL Most Valuable Player Lamar Jackson. However, it became more explosive after adding Derrick Henry. The Ravens also have Zay Flowers, Mark Andrews, and Isaiah Likely.

While the Ravens won the AFC North title and defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round, they bowed out of the competition against the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round.

Before joining the Ravens, Monken was Georgia’s offensive coordinator. He helped the Bulldogs win consecutive national championships in 2021 and 2022. He has also coached for other NFL teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Cleveland Browns.
