NFL to Play Regular Season Game in Australia

The National Football League will go to Australia as they go to the continent to play a regular season game in Melbourne, starting in 2026. In doing so, the Los Angeles Rams will be the designated home team as the league commences its multi-year commitment to play in Australia.

Australia is the sixth non-American territory under the NFL International Series. The league has played games in England (London), Mexico, Germany, Brazil, and Spain (Madrid). Last season, the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears won against the New York Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium.

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers to open the 2024 season, also the first-ever NFL game in Brazil. Likewise, the Carolina Panthers defeated the New York Giants in Munich, Germany.

Next season, the NFL will have its first-ever game in Madrid, Spain, with the Miami Dolphins designated as the home team. Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts will be the home team in the first-ever game in Berlin. The Jets, the Jaguars, and the Browns are the designated home teams in the three London Games in 2025.
