Jake Elliott Owns Super Bowl Record

Placekicker Jake Elliott became a two-time Super Bowl champion after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. However, he contributed to their latest victory in style, completing the most points by a kicker in the Super Bowl.

Elliott contributed 16 points against the Chiefs in the recent Super Bowl. In addition to four extra points after the Eagles touchdowns, Elliott converted all four field goal attempts. Elliott nailed a 48-yarder in the second quarter, his first field goal of the day.

The veteran kicker added three more points in the third quarter and two more in the fourth quarter. Nailing all his attempts is a perfect ending to a season wherein he struggled to convert long attempts. Three of his field goals were at least 48 yards which helped the Eagles establish a sizeable advantage.

While the Eagles defense got the most credit for the Super Bowl victory, Elliott’s kicks kept the pressure on the Chiefs to catch up with limited possessions. With the Eagles on the verge of a dynasty, Elliott will join the ride because he will start his four-year, $24 million contract extension next season.
