Wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are not going anywhere after signing massive contract extensions with the Cincinnati Bengals. Chase became the National Football League’s highest-paid non-quarterback after signing a four-year, $161 million contract.
His deal includes $112 million in guaranteed money and a $40.25 million annual average. That amount is slightly higher than the four-year, $160 million contract signed by Justin Jefferson. Chase deserves such a contract after becoming one of the league’s elite wideouts.
Last season, he became a First-Team All-Pro after winning the Triple Crown as the league leader in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708), and touchdowns (17). He also broke Jefferson’s record for most receiving yards by a rookie (1,455) in 2021. Chase is also a Pro Bowler in all four seasons and had a Second-Team All-Pro selection in his first NFL season.
Meanwhile, Higgins and the Bengals finally completed their contract negotiations with a four-year, $115 million contract. Higgins will stay longer in Cincinnati after the Bengals assigned him the franchise tag twice. Last season, he signed a one-year contract after getting tagged. This time, he will have a contract averaging $28.75 million annually.
Higgins had 73 receptions for 911 yards and ten touchdowns last year. He had two, 1,000-yard seasons and has 4,595 receiving yards in five seasons.
