All-Pro LT Tyron Smith retires after 14 NFL seasons

NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport reported that left tackle Tyron Smith will retire from the league after 14 seasons. Smith will sign a one-year contract to retire with the Dallas Cowboys, the team he played for 13 seasons.

During his time with the Cowboys, Smith became a two-time First-Team All-Pro and three-time Second-Team All-Pro member. The former USC standout also earned ten Pro Bowl selections and a spot in the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. Meanwhile,

After playing for Dallas, he signed a one-year deal worth up to $20 million with the New York Jets. However, his 2024 season ended after ten games due to a neck injury. Throughout his career, Pro Football Focus gave him an 89 pass-blocking grade and 90.8 for run blocking.

Smith started all 171 career games he played in the NFL and was involved in 9,961 snaps. Out of those plays, he was accountable for only 83 penalties. Meanwhile, Spotrac estimates his career earnings at $128.3 million.
