Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman and shortstop Eugenio Suarez is getting some attention for his impressive batting streak. All his first five hits were home runs, making him only the third Major League Baseball player since 1900 to achieve that feat. Rob Deer did it with the Detroit Tigers in 1992, while Rodolfo Castro followed nearly three decades later.
His first home run came on Opening Day against the Chicago Cubs. He hit two more the following game against Chicago’s National League team and another one in the third game versus the Cubs. Suarez’s fifth home run came against the New York Yankees yesterday.
