Yankees hitting home runs at a frantic pace

The New York Yankees won three of their four games by getting the better of opposing pitchers. They’ve hit 18 home runs, thanks to their “torpedo bat” which had more wood on the sweet spot.

Austin Wells and Anthony Volpe had one home run each during their season-opening game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The following game, they scored 20 runs off 11 home runs, including four hits that went outside the yard in as many pitches.

The Yankees wrapped their opening series against the Brewers with three home runs. Even in their loss against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the defending American League champions tallied three home runs.

Through four games, Aaron Judge leads the way with four home runs. Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Volpe have three homers each, while Ben Rice and Austin Wells each have two. Jasson Dominguez, Oswald Peraza, Paul Goldschmidt, and Cody Bellinger have one home run each.

The Yankees’ 3-1 record is second in the American League East, one game behind the Tampa Bay Rays. As a team, the Yankees are slashing .289/.381/.719/1.100 with 39 RBIs and 41 runs in 135 at-bats.
