Tyler Lockett signs one-year deal with Titans

The Tennessee Titans improved their wide receiver rotation by signing Tyler Lockett to a one-year contract worth $4 million. The Seattle Seahawks released Lockett after ten seasons after tallying season lows in receiving yards (600) and touchdowns (2) over the last five seasons.

Not long ago, Lockett recorded four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, including a career-high 1,175 receiving yards in 2021. Through 168 career games, Lockett has 690 receptions for 9,104 yards and 63 touchdowns. The former Kansas State standout did it while being the second option in the Seahawks passing game behind D.K. Metcalf.

Lockett will have a fresh start as he moves from the NFC to the AFC. He will bolster Tennessee’s passing attack with Calvin Ridley and Treylon Burks. Likewise, Lockett can make Cam Ward’s NFL transition easier, if the Titans end up selecting him first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. More importantly, his veteran presence can help calm the nerves of the young but talented Titans offense.
