Jahmyr Gibbs blows past Giants

219 yards comes on only 15 carries

Jahmyr Gibbs piles up a monster day against the Giants, and he does so with style. He managed to rush for 219 yards despite carrying the ball only 15 times.

Helped along by two long touchdown runs, Gibbs averaged 14.6 yards per carry. That ties for the most of the Super Bowl era by a running back with over 200 rushing yards.

Isaiah Crowell (shockingly) also did this, finishing with the exact same stat line – 15 carries for 219 yards in a game against the Broncos in 2018. I say shockingly because Crowell wasn’t even drafted and was on his second NFL team. (Crowell started his career with the Browns but had his 219-yard game with the Jets.)

In the Superb Owl era, only 25 players have run for 200-plus yards while also averaging at least 10 yards per attempt.

Three players pre-Super Bowl have gone even higher, with 1959 Bobby Mitchell being the all-time leader – 14 carries for 232 yards for Cleveland in a win over Washington. Mitchell spent his first four seasons with the Browns but was traded to Washington, spending his final seven seasons there.

Gibbs’ worst game this year came at Green Bay back in Week 1 – 19 yards on 9 carries. He gets another shot at the Packers on Thanksgiving.

9 carries. You hear that Campbell, 9 carries. Don't do that nonsense again!!

So, I have a unique spot here. I have been stashing Ollie Gordon for a bit but Jaleel McLaughlin is available and I can grab him pre-waivers today. They are close in your redrafter and who knows if I'd even consider starting either of them. McLaughlin seems most likely to time share with Ollie getting goal line work at best.

I know the rankings, what does your gut say with Denver against Washington, Vegas, Packers, Jax, KC and Chargers or Miami against New Orleans, JEts, Pit, Cincy, TB and NE?

Gibbs owners kicked ass and won the week while J Taylor owners looked on in horror and should be worried about future schedule for him.We were warned by Andy and or Ian that this was very possible!

I would think McLaughlin. Harvey hasn't actually gotten over the hump and done much of anything yet.

Gibbs put up the biggest stat line for running back in the history of our league which started in 1993. His 55.4 points beat Chris Johnson's 54 points put up in the 2009 season. Incredible.
