Amon-Ra St. Brown is active

Receiver will give it a go against Cowboys

Amon-Ra St. Brown is active for the Thursday night game. Apparently, he’s going to try to play. That merits a re-visiting of Detroit’s projections.

He’s not 100 percent, of course. He left the Thanksgiving game with an ankle injury, and he hasn’t practiced at all. There’s the risk that he’ll quickly aggravate the injury, leaving the game early. Unlikely that he puts up his usual numbers.

But he’s playing, and if he’s 80 percent of what he usually is, he’ll be work using.

I have re-worked the numbers, re-allocating some production away from their other pass catchers – Jameson Williams, Isaac TeSlaa and Tom Kennedy.

It’s back-of-the-napkin stuff, but it goes something like this …

I’ve got Amon-Ra St. Brown at 5.7 catches for 67 yards, with a 53 percent chance of scoring a touchdown. That moves him up among wide receivers to 10th in standard scoring, 12th in PPR and 7th in TD only.

Jameson Williams was previously 2nd in all formats. I’ve got moved down to 8th, 8th and 3rd. Current numbers show at 5.1 catches for 72 yards, 3 rushing yards, and a 59 percent chance of scoring a touchdown.

Isaac TeSlaa previously listed at 23rd, 30th and 15th in those three systems. He’s now down at 39th, 45th and 25th. He’s been lowered to 3.2 catches for 39 yards, with a 31 percent chance of scoring.

I’ve lowered both of the tight ends by a little, but they weren’t factoring in anyway. I have lowered Tom Kennedy down to close to zero.

At quarterback, the addition of St. Brown would have me leaning towards moving Jared Goff up one spot (just above Patrick Mahomes facing that Houston defense).

Best of luck to all.
