Factoid: Playoff running backs

I saw a news item yesterday talking about how there were three 1,500-yard rushers in the NFL this season, and none of their teams made the playoffs. It was making the point that having a top running back didn't necessarily translate into team success. It depends how you look at it.   more »

Los Angeles Chargers running back AUSTIN EKELER made fantasy owners proud in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Ekeler turned 14 total touches into 161 yards from scrimmage and 2More touchdowns. Ekeler had the longest run of his career on a second quarter 72-yard touchdown run. He also became the third running back to make at least 100 catches and score at least 15 touchdowns from scrimmage in a single season, joining LaDainian Tomlinson and Christian McCaffrey. Less

Just a day after Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley downplayed running back AUSTIN EKELER’s injury, the star running back’s status appears less certain. The Chargers handed in their finalMore injury report for tonight’s game against Kansas City and Ekeler is now listed as questionable. Ekeler was on the injury report with an ankle injury last week and aggravated that injury during Sunday’s game against the New York Giants. Ekeler has been limited in practice the last two days. Chargers RB Ekeler, WR Allen expected back

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley had some good news for fantasy owners on Monday. Star running back AUSTIN EKELER left Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, but Staley saidMore that the injury is “nothing major” and that Ekeler is expected back at practice this week. Staley also said that wide receiver KEENAN ALLEN is expected to play this week. Allen missed last week’s game after being placed on the Covid-19 Reserve list.
