Howard placed on injured reserve

Tampa Bay tight end O.J. HOWARD suffered season-ending foot and ankle injuries during Sunday’s game against the New York Giants. The team placed Howard on injured reserve on Tuesday. With HowardMore out of action, the Bucs will turn to CAMERON BRATE. Brate hasn’t seen much action of late but he has had fantasy success when given the opportunity in the past. Less

Bucs TE Howard has sprained MCL

Tampa Bay tight end O.J. HOWARD suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee during Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears. Howard could miss between two and four weeks due to the injury. Fellow tight end CAMERON BRATE is likely to pick up the slack while Howard is out.

Bucs rookie TE Howard has breakout game

Tampa Bay rookie tight end O.J. HOWARD topped his season totals for catches and touchdowns in Sunday’s game against Buffalo. While fellow tight end CAMERON BRATE remains in the mix, fantasy owners will be watching to see if the focus shifts toward Howard after his breakout game.

Factoid: Tight end touchdown to target percentage

A couple of days ago we ran a table showing what wide receivers turned the highest percentage of their targets into touchdowns last year. A couple of Packers and free agent wideout Anquan Boldin topped that list. Looking at tight ends, a pair of rookies figure prominently.   more »

Rookie TE Howard off to great start

Tampa Bay rookie tight end O.J. HOWARD took part in the Bucs’ first rookie minicamp and head coach Dirk Koetter says he can do everything the team needs a tight endMore to do. Koetter’s system is very similar to the offense that Howard worked in at Alabama as well. Time will tell if the rookie has a negative impact on the fantasy value of fellow tight end CAMERON BRATE. Bucs place TE Brate on injured reserve

Tampa Bay tight end CAMERON BRATE has been placed on injured reserve with a back injury suffered in Saturday’s game against New Orleans. Brate had a breakout season, tying the team record for tight ends with 8 touchdown catches.

Factoid: Julius Thomas

The other day I posted a table showing the number of touchdowns allowed by each team to wide receivers since the start of last season. Now the table showing touchdowns to tight ends. Not surprisingly (since we mention it every week), Detroit is terrible in this regard, making Julius Thomas a great option this week.   more »
