49ers RB Mitchell had offseason knee surgery

San Francisco 49ers second-year running back ELIJAH MITCHELL confirmed early this week that he had a surgical procedure on his knee earlier this offseason. Mitchell described the procedure as a “clean-up”More and said that he expects to be ready to go by the start of training camp. Mitchell was a sixth round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and he went on to lead the 49ers in rushing as a rookie. Less

Samuel, Mitchell lead 49ers to playoff win

As he did for much of the regular season, San Francisco wide receiver DEEBO SAMUEL helped lead the 49ers to a win in Sunday’s playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys. SamuelMore wasn’t the leading receiver, but he ran 10 times for 72 yards – including a 26-yard rushing touchdown late in the third quarter. And when Samuel wasn’t running the ball, rookie running back ELIJAH MITCHELL was doing the honors. Mitchell carried the ball a game-high 27 times and scored on a 4-yard run to open the scoring. Less

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan reported on Tuesday that rookie running back ELIJAH MITCHELL suffered a finger fracture at some point during Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.More Mitchell was set for surgery but Shanahan was “optimistic” that his rookie rusher could return to practice as soon as today. Elijah Mitchell has run for over 100 yards in three games this year, but he oddly hasn’t caught a pass in any of them. That hurts his value in fantasy leagues (particularly of the PPR format), and it’s not something that’s common in today’s games.   more »
