Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy thinks that running back JAMAAL WILLIAMS is “poised to have a big year” for the Packers. Williams can run, catch, and block and he hasMore had a productive camp and preseason thus far. Factoid: Aaron Jones: sleeper?

As Andy pointed out in his roundup, Aaron Jones will miss the season’s first two games. He’s been suspended for violating the league’s substance abuse rules. That’s not necessarily a huge deal. Other players have served suspensions at the start of seasons and bounced back to have big years – most notably LeVeon Bell and Josh Gordon.  more »

Around the NFL: Jonesing for a larger role

The Packers have three viable running backs. Ty Montgomery, Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones have all shown some ability, and they may end up sharing time. I don’t think there’s not a whole lot of difference between them for fantasy purposes – they should all be selected within a couple of rounds of each other in the second halves of drafts.  more »

Around the NFL: Packers running backs

Green Bay had three different running backs with some fantasy appeal at various points last year. Those players return in 2018, and early indications are a probable headache for fantasy teams. Might be tough to extract much value out of any one of them this season.   more »

Packers still have plans for RB Montgomery

After three weeks of OTA practices, it appears that Green Bay running back TY MONTGOMERY could be set for a significant role in the offense. While Montgomery has struggled to remain healthy, it doesn’t appear as though he lost any ground to emerging running backs JAMAAL WILLIAMS and AARON JONES.

Factoid: Explosive Aaron Jones

The Packers don’t have a stand-out, can’t-miss running back, but they do have nice depth at the position. Jamaal Williams, Ty Montgomery and Aaron Jones have all shown some ability to be productive.  more »

Factoid: Backup running backs

What is the value of a backup running back? That is, when it’s the 10th round, does the correct course tend to involve selecting a backup-type running back? Or are we better to look at perhaps a remaining top-20 quarterback or a wide receiver who’s at least starting?  more »

Packers RB Jones returns to practice

Green Bay rookie running back AARON JONES returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since tearing his MCL on November 12th against the Chicago Bears. Jones missed the lastMore two games due to the knee injury and fellow rookie JAMAAL WILLIAMS played well while replacing him. If TY MONTGOMERY is also able to return, the Packers backfield could be a difficult situation for fantasy owners to navigate when Green Bay hosts Tampa Bay this Sunday. Less
