Around the NFL: D'Onta Foreman

The Browns signed D'Onta Foreman yesterday, and I'm interested. Nick Chubb suffered an ugly knee injury last season that required multiple surgeries, and seems unlikely to be healthy at the start of the season. Foreman gets no respect, but he should.  more »

Factoid: Jerome Ford

The Browns like Jerome Ford more than Kareem Hunt. Just not around the goal line. They like to use the veteran in that part of the field.   more »

Browns sign veteran RB Hunt to one-year deal

The Cleveland Browns are bringing back a familiar face in the wake of running back NICK CHUBB’s season ending injury, signing veteran rusher KAREEM HUNT to a one-year deal on Tuesday.More The Browns also officially moved Chubb to injured reserve, ending his 2023 season. Hunt played with the Browns for the past four seasons, but Cleveland chose to let him walk in the offseason. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Tuesday that running back JEROME FORD will be the team’s featured back moving forward, but fantasy owners should expect Hunt to have a role as well. Less

Around the NFL: Browns running backs

The Browns are signing free agent running back Kareem Hunt, which will doubtless be worrying to those who are holding or in position to add Jerome Ford. But maybe there's a positive, in that it will allow people to add Ford a little cheaper.   more »

Browns exploring options following Chubb injury

Cleveland Browns running back NICK CHUBB will undergo surgery on his injured left knee and will be out for the remainder of the 2023 NFL season. Browns head coach Kevin StefanskiMore said the team will now feature backup running back JEROME FORD in the lead role. The Browns are also exploring other options, including KAREEM HUNT. Hunt, 28, became a free agent this spring and the team did not sign him because they reportedly felt that his speed was not what it once was. Another player reportedly on the Browns’ radar is Los Angeles Rams running back CAM AKERS, who the Rams said earlier this week is likely to be traded. Stay tuned, fantasy owners. Less

Factoid: Nick Chubb

The Browns won’t have Nick Chubb again in 2023, but I don’t think that running game is going away. Great as Chubb is, a good portion of the success there can be attributed to the infrastructure around him – the offensive line, and the commitment to run the ball.   more »

Browns RB Chubb to be more involved in passing game?

Cleveland Browns running back NICK CHUBB is seeing more activity in Cleveland’s passing game during training camp and the preseason, with fantasy owners hoping that trend carries over into the regularMore season. Chubb’s previous single-season high in targets was 40 back in 2021. But with KAREEM HUNT now gone and youngster JEROME FORD still working his way back from injury, the Browns will likely need Chubb to do more this season. Thus far, Chubb is embracing the challenge while downplaying the added responsibility. Take note, fantasy owners. Less

Around the NFL: Jerome Ford

Story out that the Browns won't be re-signing Kareem Hunt (it doesn't appear anyone is interested at the moment). And they already let D'Ernest Johnson go in free agency. So Jerome Ford needs to be on the list of late-round running backs, in case Nick Chubb breaks down.   more »
