Kansas City WR James getting more work amid wideout injuries
Kansas City wide receiver RICHIE JAMES could be in for an increased workload in the weeks ahead as the team’s wide receiver corps continues to deal with injuries. After signing with… More Kansas City in April, James looked impressive during training camp and the team’s first preseason game. With fellow wide receiver JUSTYN ROSS dinged up during Tuesday’s practice (he did return on Wednesday) and KADARIUS TONEY still out, Ross has more time to get comfortable with PATRICK MAHOMES. While the wideout room in Kansas City is deep, Ross is worth keeping an eye on. Less

Factoid: Decoy receivers
Marquez Valdes-Scantling had puzzling a Super Bowl. He was on the field for almost two thirds of Kansas City’s plays. He was a starter-type guy in a 38-35 shootout. Yet he had only one pass thrown his way (an incompletion). more »

Fantasy News: Skyy Moore
Skyy Moore had a lesser rookie year, but I’m not giving up on him just yet. He chipped in a few plays, and I think there’s still a chance he’ll emerge. more »

Kansas City agreed to contract terms late last week with former San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants wide receiver RICHIE JAMES. Around the NFL: Richie James
Kansas City signed Richie James to a one-year contract, and that one gets my attention. He could help fill some of the void created by the losses of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman. more »

Factoid: NY Giants
The common assumption is that the Giants will be adding a wide receiver or two in the offseason, be it by draft, free agency or both. But while that’s probably the case, I don’t think their receiving corps is quite as awful as most paint it be. They got unusually good production from some seemingly modest wide receivers last year. more »

Factoid: Giants wideouts
The Giants are at Philadelphia tomorrow night, and I'm debating whether to use one or two of their wide receivers. In this playoff competition, you can use each player only once, so the goal is to have top-performing players from teams you think will lose. (Using ones from winning teams might leave you without starters in later rounds.) more »

Fantasy News: They might be Giants
I was doing some early work on the playoff teams yesterday – carefully looking at the production of all players on teams that have already qualified for the postseason. (We’ve got a couple of playoff products going out early next week). It was the New York receivers that surprised me the most. more »

Around the NFL: Sterling Shepard
Strange to say, with the Giants having a lesser passing game, but they've had a crowded receiving corps to try to sift through. It's less so today, with the news that Sterling Shepard tore his ACL at the end of last night's game, and is out for the year. more »

49ers lose another wideout to injury
The San Francisco 49ers signed wide receiver J.J. NELSON two weeks ago to add depth to an injury-plagued receiving corps. Unfortunately, Nelson suffered an injury of his own last week and… More is expected to miss two weeks to a month with a knee issue. In addition to Nelson, wide receivers DEEBO SAMUEL (foot), BRANDON AIYUK (hamstring), JALEN HURD (torn ACL on IR), and RICHIE JAMES (wrist) have all been out of practice due to injuries. Less

49ers WR Aiyuk dealing with bad hammy
San Francisco wide receiver BRANDON AIYUK is the latest to add his name to the growing list of injured 49ers wideouts. Aiyuk left practice early on Sunday following an apparent hamstring… More injury. The severity of the injury has yet to be determined. Aiyuk joins fellow wide receivers DEEBO SAMUEL (fracture), JALEN HURD (ACL tear), and RICHIE JAMES (wrist) on the injury front. Aiyuk was taken with the 25th overall pick in the first-round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Less

49ers moving on from WR Garcon
The San Francisco 49ers are declining to exercise the club option for wide receiver PIERRE GARCON for the 2019 season. With the team moving on from Garcon, the 49ers receiving corps will feature some combination of MARQUISE GOODWIN, DANTE PETTIS, KENDRICK BOURNE, TRENT TAYLOR, and RICHIE JAMES.
