Will Sam Howell be Washington's franchise QB?

It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Howell in his first year at the helm. He threw for zero touchdowns and four interceptions in Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills. However, his comfort level with Eric Bieniemy’s offense has grown every week.

Sam Howell and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Washington Commanders quarterback SAM HOWELL had a day to forget during Sunday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills. Howell was sacked 9 times and intercepted 4 times (including a pick-six), showing thereMore is room for improvement after a 2 – 0 start to the season. Howell did not throw a touchdown pass in the game and the Commanders didn’t get on the scoreboard until the final minute, when kicker JOEY SLYE kicked a 51-yard field goal. Howell and the Commanders will hope for better days ahead, starting with Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Less

Washington QB Howell does “exactly what we expected”

Washington head coach Ron Rivera said after Monday night’s preseason game that newly named starting quarterback SAM HOWELL “did exactly what we were expecting him to do”. Howell played the entireMore first half and looked sharp while completing 19 of 25 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Rivera added that Howell “took control of the offense” and “did a good job at the line of scrimmage”. There was no word on whether or not Howell will see time in the Commanders final preseason game, but fantasy owners can count on him starting the season opener against the Arizona Cardinals on September 10th.
