When editing text for the 2020 annual, I was surprised to see the Washington text written as though Kyle Allen, not Dwayne Haskins, would be the starting quarterback. Turns out Ian Allan was just ahead of the Football Team organization on that one. Haskins has been benched.
My first thought (beyond, dang it, I need to revise the Washington write-up last minute) was that the quarterback switch was a negative for the Rams defense (who Washington plays this week). Haskins has taken at least 3 sacks in every game, and 4 sacks once -- a shame that Aaron Donald and company won't get to feast on him.
But looking at Allen's numbers from last year, the Rams should be every bit as good against him -- maybe even better. Allen last year was just as sack prone, and he also threw plenty of interceptions and was a friendly matchup for fumbles.

Allen is probably a better and more capable passer than Haskins. This could help the rest of the season prospects for the offense in terms of yards and touchdowns; a plus for Terry McLaurin, I think.
But I doubt Allen will be much more successful in terms of wins and losses than Haskins. And he'll be a nice matchup for opposing defenses in fantasy areas.
