Last year, Aaron Rodgers’ stint with the New York Jets lasted four snaps. After Robert Woods sacked him, he suffered what turned out to be an Achilles injury. His absence led to the Jets missing the playoffs for the 13th consecutive season.
While Rodgers has recovered from the injury, the Jets’ 2024 season is questionable. The four-time NFL Most Valuable Player has avoided the team during mandatory minicamp. He will be subject to fines as head coach Robert Saleh did not excuse his absence.
Rodgers isn’t locked in contract negotiations because his restructured deal runs until 2025, wherein he will earn a $37.5 million base salary.

Rodgers is subject to be fined. Along with Haason Reddick.

Conversely, outside linebacker Haason Reddick is staying away from the Jets because he has one year left in the three-year, $45 million contract he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now suiting up for the Jets after an offseason trade, the two-time Pro Bowler is trying to exercise his leverage for an extension.
Reddick is among the most consistent edge rushers in the league, tallying double-digit sacks for three teams in the last four seasons. He had 11 last year and a career-high 16 the year before for the Eagles. Reddick had 12.5 in his final year with the Arizona Cardinals (2020) and 11 in his lone year with the Carolina Panthers.
Rodgers and Reddick are integral members of a Jets team trying to reach the postseason for the first time since 2010.
