CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys Agree To Four-Year, $136 Million Contract Extension

After months of negotiations, the Dallas Cowboys and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb finalized a four-year, $136 million contract extension. Multiple reports confirmed the deal includes $100 million in guaranteed money and a $38 million signing bonus.

The contract keeps him signed until the 2028 season when he turns 29. Meanwhile, The 33rd Team NFL writer Ari Meirov tweeted that Lamb's camp negotiated for a short-term deal. Conversely, the Cowboys wanted a five—or six-year contract. Both parties settled on a compromise to complete the deal.

Without the extension, Lamb is in the final year of his rookie-scale contract with the Dallas Cowboys, earning him $17.9 million under the fifth-year option. The finalized extension also means that Lamb will finally report to the Cowboys because he stayed away from the team during the contract negotiations. While he will be subject to heavy fines, his new contract makes the penalties look like pennies.

Lamb earned this contract extension after getting a First-Team All-Pro nod last season with 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also became the first player in NFL history to register three consecutive games with at least ten receptions and 150 receiving yards.

Lamb's contract extension, with an annual average of $34 million, makes him the second-highest-paid non-quarterback. His fellow wideout, Justin Jefferson, tops the list with four years and $140 million. As ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter pointed out, he's also the 11th wide receiver to sign a lucrative contract extension this season.

The new contract means CeeDee Lamb will remain the Cowboys' focal point in their passing attack. Meanwhile, quarterback Dak Prescott is still seeking a contract extension from Dallas.
