The Detroit Lions envision Jameson Williams as a vital part of their offense, especially now that he’s in his third NFL season. But with each game passing, he’s embracing the role of being the team’s deep-ball threat. Therefore, it was a mission accomplished for the former Alabama standout to haul a 70-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff during their Week 4 Monday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Goff found Williams on an intermediate pass, and the wideout took it to the house after high-stepping like Deion Sanders. However, that big play by Williams isn’t an exception. Instead, he has been a master of the home run ball, as the Fox Sports NFL account on X/Twitter pointed out that all of Williams’ five regular season touchdowns went for at least 30 yards.
His first-ever NFL touchdown catch occurred in a 2022 game against their division rivals, the Minnesota Vikings. Williams caught a pass from Goff and dashed to the end zone for a 41-yard touchdown. It was his only touchdown catch that year.

The following year, he scored a 45-yard touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and another 32-yard touchdown versus the Chicago Bears. This season, he had a 52-yard touchdown grab against the Los Angeles Rams in a rematch of last season’s NFC Wild Card Round game.
Finally, Williams’ 70-yard scoring grab is his fifth NFL touchdown of at least 32 yards. He can add more as the Lions visit the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5.
