Stefon Diggs Suffered Season-Ending ACL Injury

All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs had an abrupt end to his 2024 NFL season after suffering a non-contact ACL injury in his right knee during their Week 8 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

It’s an unfortunate development for the four-time Pro Bowler because he was having a solid season for the team that traded for him this offseason. In eight games, Diggs has 47 receptions for 496 yards and three touchdowns.

He had season-highs of 10 receptions and 94 yards in Week 3 against his former team, the Minnesota Vikings. Diggs also scored his first career rushing touchdown in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

His injury will end his 1,000-yard streak to six, which started when he was still with Minnesota. He reached that mark in all four seasons with the Buffalo Bills, including a career-high 1,535 yards in 2020. Likewise, the season-ending ACL injury marks the first time he will play fewer than 13 games in a season.

Diggs’ ACL injury further depletes Houston’s receiving corps. Nico Collins is on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, leaving the Texans with five active receivers. Tank Dell will be C.J. Stroud’s primary option, with Collins and Diggs unavailable. Being the WR1 could revive a disappointing campaign for the second-year player.
