Bryce Young Is Figuring It Out For Panthers

Quarterback Bryce Young has been labeled a bust after finishing his rookie season with a 59.8 completion percentage for 2,877 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. C.J. Stroud’s success with the Houston Texans didn’t help Young’s plight either.

However, the Carolina Panthers quarterback has turned the tide in the second year of his rookie contract. While the Panthers won only five games, Young's solid performances at the end of the season might have solidified his spot as starting quarterback.

Young had 25 completions for 275 passing yards and five touchdowns on the road against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons played their starters against the Panthers because they were still competing for the NFC South title. However, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft dissected their defense.

Young has fewer passing yards (2,403) than in his rookie season because he lost the starting role to Andy Dalton. However, he improved his touchdown (15) to interception (9) ratio. Young also completed 60.9 of his passes and had seven touchdowns in his last three games.

His performances throughout the latter part of the 2024 season might have validated Carolina's right choice (and trade) to acquire him. However, General Manager Dan Morgan’s role now is to surround him with superb talent.
