I will be interested to see what the Rams can do on Thursday night. They’ve got a hot offense, but it’s looking like they’ll be playing without Davante Adams. They’ll also be playing against a very good defense, possibly in inclement weather.
When these teams played earlier, the Rams hit a couple of plays early but then their offense stagnated. They finished with only 249 total yards, rushing and passing.
Adams has a hamstring injury. I don’t think he’ll be active. If he is, I would think he’ll be on a pitch count and playing less than usual. (And with the game played in cooler temperatures and perhaps rain, we’ll all be watching for him to more seriously damage the muscle – using him in that game, I think, would be a terrible idea).
At the same time, the Rams are doing great offensive things right now. They’re running the heck out of the ball, Puka Nacua is making great catches every week, and Matthew Stafford is capably running things.
Los Angeles’ offense has scored 37 touchdowns in its last eight games. I see 3 against Seattle and 3 against Tampa Bay, but at least 4 in all of their other games. They’re rolling.
Including a Pick Six, the Rams have scored 38 touchdowns in their last eight games. In NFL history, only two other teams have scored more touchdowns between Game 7 and Game 14, and both had legendary offenses – the 1993 San Francisco 49ers, and the 2012 New England Patriots.
